How to Backcomb and Create a Bump in Six Easy Steps

Hello, today we will be showing you a very simple method of How to Backcomb and Create a Bump in your hair.

This is the very first of our blog posts that will help you with many techniques, tips and advice in Hair Styling and general Hair Care. This step by step guide with photographs teaches you how to backcomb and create a bump in your hair using a comb, hairspray, and some clips. It is a very easy process and takes you through one step at a time to make sure that you have the perfect bump.

Firstly, here is what you need to get started:

    • Backcombing brush or fine toothed comb
    • Clips
    • Hairspray

 
Hair Spray / Clips / Comb / Brush - Styling Equipment

 

Step 1

Section your hair from the back, concentrating on the centre of your head.

Step 2

Section off a thin piece of hair and spray with a touch of hairspray.

Step 3

Then taking your backcombing brush/comb, start brushing/combing downwards and work your way up the hair until it looks like this :

Step 4

Repeat this process until you get to the hair line. When you have finished backcombing it should resemble something like this :

Step 5

Next spray a small amount of hairspray over the top and start to gently brush from the hairline to the back of the head,until it looks somehing like this :

Step 6

Smooth down one side and secure with a clip or two. Repeat this process on the other side and you will be left with a perfect bump.
